Built for products that children use.

Children’s AI is held to a higher standard by parents, schools and regulators. Boundlia is being designed with that standard in mind, so the products built on it can show what their AI may do and what it did.

Boundlia is in development. This page describes how the platform is being designed. It is not legal advice, and it does not state that any product meets a particular law.

  • Purpose first

Every product starts with who it is for and what it should do. Its limits follow from that.

  • Permission before memory

Memory is off unless a parent, school or account owner allows it, for a stated purpose.

  • Evidence by design

Answers carry their sources and declines their reasons, in a record that reviewers can check.

Children’s privacy

  • COPPA
  • GDPR-K
  • KVKK

Children’s privacy rules differ by country, but they ask similar questions: who consented, what is collected, why, and for how long.

Boundlia is designed with the US Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), the GDPR’s rules for children’s data in Europe (often called GDPR-K) and Turkey’s Personal Data Protection Law (KVKK) in mind. Memory is off unless a parent, school or account owner allows it, and the platform is built to support consent, access and deletion requests.

Age-appropriate design

  • Age-appropriate design codes

Products for children should be designed for their age from the start, not adapted afterward.

Teams set the audience and age range first. Knowledge, tone, memory and actions follow from it, and sensitive actions such as purchases or contacting someone wait for a grown-up. The approach is informed by age-appropriate design codes such as the UK Children’s Code.

EU AI Act readiness

  • EU AI Act

The EU AI Act asks providers to understand and document how their AI systems behave, with stricter duties for some uses, including certain education settings.

Boundlia is built to support that work: a declared purpose and set of limits for each product, a record of how its AI behaved and evaluation findings your team can use in its own assessment.

Evaluation before launch

  • Testing

Our team tests each product against its purpose, audience and limits before it reaches real users, including requests written to test the boundary.

You see what works and what needs attention, and we evaluate the changes with you as you prepare for launch.

Records and audit

  • Evidence

Each answer is designed to carry its source, and each decline its reason. The record of what the AI did is designed so that your team, reviewers, auditors and insurers can check it.

Boundlia is designed to provide evidence to independent certifiers and insurers. It does not certify or insure products itself.

Data handling

  • Data minimization

Collect less, keep it for a reason and keep it for less time. Boundlia is designed to keep only the data a product needs for its stated purpose, and not to use children’s data for advertising.

Details such as where data is stored and processed are being confirmed with counsel before any pilot with real children.

This website’s own practices are in our Privacy Policy.
